MILE Application 2025-2026

Members Involved in Leadership & Engagement (MILE) is a leadership/professional development opportunity for MN TRIO professionals. MN TRIO is accepting applications for the 2026 MN TRIO MILE program through Friday, January 9, 2026.

Purpose: To create a network of engaged TRIO professionals while gaining knowledge of MN TRIO, Educational Opportunity Association (EOA), and Council for Opportunity in Education (COE); the importance of state and federal advocacy; and to critically think about enhancing the quality of the MN TRIO Association.

Target Members: 10-12 MN TRIO professionals

  1. Curious to learn more about TRIO history and associations;

  2. Newer TRIO professionals;

  3. Seasoned professionals who want to be more involved;

  4. Minimal involvement on the state (MNTRIO) level;

  5. Want to develop new leadership skills;

  6. Interested in learning and expanding professional development skills;

  7. Interested in networking and building community

 

Member Expectations (if accepted):

  1. Become a MN TRIO member upon acceptance to the MILE program if you are not already. MN TRIO Membership information: https://eoa.wildapricot.org/Join

  2. Pay a participation fee of $100.00 (can be paid by your TRIO program or institution). 

  3. Gain supervisor approval to participate in the MILE program from February 2026 - December 2026. If you are accepted to MILE, you will be emailed a form asking for your supervisor's signature.

  4. Attend virtual and in-person MILE meetings from February 2026 - December 2026. The first two meeting dates are February 6 at North Hennepin Community College and April 14-15 prior to the MN TRIO Conference at Treasure Island. Later meetings will be scheduled based on MILE members' availability.
