Members Involved in Leadership & Engagement

MILE Application 2022-2023

Purpose: To create a network of engaged TRIO professionals while gaining knowledge of MN TRIO, Educational Opportunity Association (EOA) and Council for Opportunity in Education (COE); the importance of state and federal advocacy; and to critically think about enhancing the quality of the MN TRIO Association.

Target Members: Ten MN TRIO professionals

  1. Anyone who is interested in learning more about TRIO history and associations;

  2. Newer professionals;

  3. Seasoned professionals who want to be more involved;

  4. Minimal involvement on the state (MNTRIO) level;

  5. Want to learn new leadership skills;

  6. Interested in learning and expanding professional development skills;

  7. Interested in networking and building community

  8. Committed to becoming a MNTRIO member prior to the February meeting

 

Program Highlights: 

  • Participate in six professional development meetings and present at MN TRIO Work Day

  • Must be able to commit to attending meetings on the following days

March 3-4 (Overnight, Location TBD)

April 12-14 (Tri-State Conference)

May 12, 2023

August 18, 2023

September 29, 2023

December 1, 2023 (MN TRIO Work Day/MILE Recognition)

  • Participation fee of $100.00 (can be paid by program/institution). MN TRIO will pay for the cost of meals and lodging accommodations during meetings

  • Curriculum may include but not be limited to: TRIO history, mentoring, evaluation, leadership assessments/reflections, quality improvement tools, readings, MN TRIO committee member work, networking, team project, and final presentation to the MN TRIO board.

 The application will open Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, and close Friday, Jan. 13, 2023. Please send completed applications to mile@mntrio.org.
